I have been so excited to share this wedding with you!  Amy & Andy’s wedding day was truly nothing short of perfection!  Gorgeous, fun couple… AMAZING venue in Auburn, CA… Details galore (they worked with a wedding coordinator who made everything look truly magical!)… I also had a chance to work with the fabulous team at Frontside Films and can hardly wait to see the wedding video.  Here are a bazilion favorites, since I couldn’t possibly narrow it down and more at the bottom in the slideshow.  Enjoy!

Amber & Jared’s wedding at the Sacramento LDS temple was soooooooooo beautiful!  I was beyond thrilled to shoot this wedding and it was even more gorgeous than I imagined it would be.  Amber chose the perfect spring colors… her bouquet was one of my favorites EVER, and the reception was full of amazing vintage details.  Here are my absolute favorites from the wedding day…

I’ve worked with Amber a few times now and she is just SO fun to photograph (and hello?!  GORGEOUS!!!). I was thrilled when she told me she wanted to hire me for her and Jared’s wedding in April! We had a blast shooting their engagement session at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk with a vintage styled picnic on the beach at the end. Here are a bunch of favorites… I just could not narrow it down!

I had so much fun shooting Tia…Tom’s wedding last weekend at the Newport Beach LDS temple. We did a bridal session at the Montage Laguna Beach a couple days before the wedding, with a “first look” at the end to capture Tom’s reaction of seeing Tia in her beautiful wedding gown before the big day. The Montage is a gorgeous location and I was so relieved that it didn’t end up raining, like the weather had predicted! Last month, I planned a styled shoot with my bff photog Morgan Werner. It could not have possibly been more fun or more perfect! We headed up to Cisco Grove, CA to shoot our “Snow Bunnies in Love.” Jenae & Todd were the perfect models… recently engaged and SO in love! They were adorable and I about died when I saw all the cute outfits Jenae brought! I wish we’d had more time to use every single outfit!! The weather was gorgeous and surprisingly, sunny bright skies equaled the most perfect reflection off the snow and some gorgeous light for our session. Morgan and I have some more fun shoots planned for this year so stay tuned!

This was my first session of the new year, and man, these two sure have set the bar high! They are so fun and photogenic… I barely noticed how freezing cold it was out or even when the sun was setting. I just wanted to keep on shooting! I can hardly wait for their wedding this May!!

As 2012 soon comes to a close, I’ve been thinking a lot about my goals for next year and also about the ones I set this year . I wanted to do 12 photo shoots of my own children this year (one for each month) and while I didn’t make it to twelve as wedding season arrived and then the busy Christmas season, I’m so glad that I attempted this little project. I ended up taking more pictures of my kids, which is exactly why I set that goal in the first place, and I have some really unique pictures to show for it. I’ve also spent a lot more time dreaming up fun themed sessions and I’ll probably bring some of my ideas to shoots next year, as well. I can’t wait! For our Christmas cards this year, I had this idea in my head that didn’t turn out exactly like I wanted, but I’m still proud of this mini session. We drove about an hour to this adorable Christmas tree farm, called Crest Ranch, up in the mountains of Santa Cruz. It was quite an adventure…  the weather was a lot colder than we were expecting. We were FREEZING the entire time (I somehow forgot to bring a jacket!).  It also became dark a lot sooner than I expected, so by the time we got there after picking the kids up from school, the sun was nearly behind the hills! However, our entire family had a blast, and we were able to capture some great images for our card this year (and enjoyed hot chocolate and a trip to Pizza My Heart afterward – bonus!!!). A little over a month ago, I had the amazing opportunity to attend a wedding workshop with one of my absolute favorite photographers, Jasmine Star.  It was one hundred percent worth the time and money spent to attend.  I learned so much from Jasmine and her awesome husband, JD, and have been reeling from the experience ever since!  AND I had tons of fun meeting the other amazing wedding photographers who attended the workshop, too!  The highlight of the day was getting to see Jasmine direct the one hour photo shoot.  I LOVED watching Jasmine in action – no wonder her couples always look like they’re having tons of fun!  Modeling for us were fellow photographer Tiffany Jahangiri and her husband, Justin.  They were so easy to work with – total naturals in front of the camera!  I wanted to share some of my favorite images from the workshop.  I can hardly wait to see what the new year will bring for my business and I’m looking forward to working with some amazing wedding couples in 2013!
