I did baby J.’s newborn pictures almost exactly one year ago, and when I found out that his mommy is a hair stylist, I mentioned that if she was ever interested in trading, I would love to.  So I was really excited when she contacted me a few months ago to see if I was still interested in a trade (and she is an amazing stylist, so I’m really happy it all worked out!!  Check out her facebook page HERE.).  When they told me that they wanted their family session in Old Sacramento, I couldn’t be happier.  It’s such a great location with plenty of cool backdrops.  And it was so fun to see how big little J. and his older brother, C., are getting!  Aren’t they so cute!!  Here are some favorites…

I did a session with the U. family a week from last Saturday, and we had such a great time!  The forecast said “rain” but we decided to just go for it anyway, and we totally lucked out.  We started off at their home and then headed into the city for some urban shots.  It stopped raining just long enough for us to get the full session in, and their kids were such troopers even with the cold weather!  I adore their whole gallery, but here are just a few favorites from the day…

I adore this family!  We’re good friends and their kids are just the sweetest!  We headed to the state capitol in downtown Sacramento for their pictures this year, and I love how they turned out!  Here are a few favorites… 

 

Time to get that family session done!  I was beyond thrilled when my good friend, Amy Schuff (who is a VERY talented photographer…  view her work HERE!), asked me if I’d be interested in doing a trade.  Her family is beyond adorable and super fun, too!  Check out how cute they are…

And this!  The unplanned moments are always my favorite.  I told mom & dad to kiss and the kids did too. 

 And then at the end, we just let the kids run wild.  This is one of my favorites from the session (it TOTALLY reminds me of how my own busy/fun kiddos are!).

This weekend, some of our good friends from Washington were driving through on their way home from Lake Tahoe, so they asked if I would do a family session with them.  I was SO excited to get to see them, and flattered that they would go out of their way to hire me for a session!  It was HOT outside, and the kids were pretty tired from their trip, but they were such troopers and we were still able to get some beautiful pictures of their family.  Here are my favorites…

Last weekend, I had a blast photographing the O. family down at the state capitol park.  Even though it was over 100° outside, I think it was worth it to capture these fun pictures of their family.  And don’t their children have the most beautiful eyes you’ve ever seen?  Thank you, O. family, for a wonderful afternoon! 

My heart skipped a beat as I watched the rain clouds roll in, while driving to this family session on Saturday.  Thankfully, we had planned to do part of the session indoors, anyway!  A beautiful home.  A gorgeous family!  And at the end, the rain stopped just long enough for us to swing by the park and get some outdoor pictures that we’d been hoping for.  Enjoy your sneak peek, N. and A.!  It was so fun meeting you and photographing your adorable little girls!
