Today my son turns 10 years old.  I don’t know how the time always seems to fly by so quickly, but wow I can’t believe it’s been a whole decade already!  This guy came into the world at a whopping 9 lbs. 3 oz. and with more hair on his head than I’ve ever seen on a newborn (before or since!).  He was such a cutie as a baby and has grown into the sweetest boy I know.  He is a total gentleman and opens the door for his sisters and me, helps carry ALL the groceries in, and is working to be the kind of man I always hoped he would be.  I am SO proud of him and happy to celebrate his 10th birthday with him today!Sacramento Lincoln Coyote Pond Park Engagement children family portraits

Thought I would share a little peak into our home.  We recently added a collage up our staircase and I absolutely love it!  I find myself walking a little more slowly up the stairs to enjoy our pictures.  All the frames are white Ribba frames from Ikea.  This took a few hours to put up, but it was definitely worth the effort.  Friends, print your pictures!!  Enjoy looking at those memories you made the effort to capture!  😉white ikea frames staircase collage

I am always slightly more motivated at the beginning of the year to take more pictures around the house.  So for this edition of Impressions, it was hard to decide which images I wanted to share the most!

First up, a couple of freelens shots.  I’ve been working to improve my skills with freelensing (taking a picture through a lens that is not attached to the camera).  I love the dreamy effect of it. Sacramento Wedding Photographer freelensingOf course I had to capture my son playing video games… easily his favorite past time!Sacramento Wedding Photographer freelensingProof of my oldest daughter’s OCD tendencies.  😉  Just kidding!  I love it that she is such an organized girl.  But I’m glad I was able to capture it here… she’s also the sweetest big sister I know!
Sacramento Wedding Photographer I’m planning on sharing more pictures of my youngest daughter’s bedroom soon.  We’ve been having a lot of fun decorating her room with lots of gold, pink, and sparkles!  In the meantime, a little sneak peek…Sacramento Wedding Photographer pottery barn teenMy youngest with our sweet ragdoll cat, Jack.  He is SO tolerant of her smothering him!Sacramento Wedding Photographer ragdoll catNow that my youngest has lost her front baby teeth, I’ve been feeling a bit sad that we are leaving the “little girl” stage behind in exchange for this spunky big girl stage!  Love that smile of hers…Sacramento Wedding Photographer Lots of trampoline fun these days.  We are loving all the gorgeous spring weather!Sacramento Wedding Photographer Sacramento Wedding Photographer

‘Impressions‘ is a creative project by an eclectic group of female photographers from around the globe. We aim to share the inspiration behind what we do through our bi-monthly posts.

Every other month, we will be sharing 8 images that tell the story of what inspired us in the previous weeks: our families, nature, weather, or maybe even work itself! We are free to explore the meaning of ‘impressions’, and it is likely to change month to month.

Please continue through the circle and see what Vinita Salome is sharing this month.  Then continue clicking through the circle till you make it back here…  I hope you enjoy all of our posts!

This week I have felt a deep sadness.  Many of you have heard the stories coming in about CHP officer Nathan Taylor who was killed this weekend in a tragic accident, while on duty.  I first met him and his wife a little over 12 years ago when we were all newlyweds.  We became close friends with them and even spent many Sunday dinners at Nathan’s parents house.   He and my husband quickly became the best of friends… we always knew we could count on him at a moments notice, for literally anything.  joshua-73-wYesterday, we wanted to show our love for him and his family, by watching the procession.  If you have heard the heroic and kind stories about him on the news and social media, I can assure you that they’re all true.  He was an amazing man and definitely inspires me to look for more ways to serve others. CHP Officer Nathan TaylorCHP Officer Nathan Taylor
