Playing catch up with some photo shoots last Fall and I was so surprised to find that I hadn’t already shared this session on here!  I adore maternity sessions and I adore this family, who I’ve been working with for over five years!  I’ve already shared the pictures from their newborn session, so I knew I needed to share these also!  Fun to see some Fall colors when it’s now springtime!  Haha!Sacramento Lincoln Family childrens maternity newborn PhotographerSacramento Lincoln Family PhotographerSacramento Lincoln Family childrens PhotographerSacramento Lincoln Family childrens maternity newborn PhotographerSacramento Lincoln Family childrens maternity newborn Photographer

Melynne is leaving for a mission with the LDS church in a couple of weeks, so we met up this weekend for some individual portraits and pictures with her family at the beautiful Sacramento temple.  The forecast was predicting rain all week, but the weather ended up being perfect.  We were so grateful!  I had a blast getting to know this sweet family a little better!  Here’s a little sneak peek…Sacramento LDS Temple family PhotographersSacramento LDS Temple family PhotographersSacramento LDS Temple family PhotographersSacramento LDS Temple family Photographers

With Mother’s Day coming up this Sunday, I wanted to share something very dear to my heart.  I don’t think I’ve ever talked about this in such a public setting, but my mother passed away when I was 19.  She didn’t like being in pictures, so I have very few of her from my years growing up.  This makes me sad, since she was one of my best friends, and even though she didn’t love the way she looked in photos, I thought she was beautiful, inside AND out!  Those photos of her that I do have mean the world to me!  So I have made it a personal goal to BE in pictures with my loved ones…  I want my children to have lots of pictures showing how much both of their parents love them.  And I always encourage my clients to be in the pictures with their children.  I have quite a few mothers say that they don’t want any pictures with their baby at the newborn session, in particular.  So I always encourage them to get in front of the camera anyway, even if they don’t feel as beautiful as usual… Their child will treasure those pictures when they grow up!  So here’s a little encouragement to all of you reading this.  BE in pictures!  You don’t have to share them online, but make sure you jump in for photos with each of your kids, get some pictures with your spouse (especially if you’re having a professional photo session!), get in the picture with that sweet newborn baby, even if you feel tired and worn out.  You’ll be glad you did and you’ll be creating something that your loved ones will treasure.  Happy Mother’s Day!
