I have been quite caught up in the magic of summer and didn’t even realize it was time for another round of the blog circle!
‘Impressions‘ is a creative project by an eclectic group of female photographers from around the globe. We aim to share the inspiration behind what we do through our bi-monthly posts.
Every other month, we will be sharing 8 images that tell the story of what inspired us in the previous weeks: our families, nature, weather, or maybe even work itself! We are free to explore the meaning of ‘impressions’, and it is likely to change month to month.
First up is my daughter turning 11… her actual birthday is this Saturday (turning 11 on the 11th!) but I will be out of town during that time, and decided to have a party early with her friends. Can’t believe my oldest is already getting SO OLD! She is honestly the most beautiful, helpful, and sweet girl I have ever met. I am so very blessed to have her as my oldest!Next up are some favorites from our camping trip to Rucker Lake in the Tahoe National Forest. It was a pretty big deal because I decided joining up with my sister and some friends for a camping trip with the kids, even though my husband couldn’t join us. I didn’t think it would be very challenging… until we arrived at the camp ground, only to find it was CLOSED (after we had already paid for some sites!). So we decided to use the campground anyway (because we are rebels like that… haha!) and called the manager of the campground the next day. Because the gate was locked, we had to hike all of our stuff in, which wasn’t very close to where we had to park our cars. If you’ve been car camping, I’m sure you’ll know that it’s not the same as packing for a backpacking trip. So I found myself carrying a huge tent, two air mattresses, a giant cooler, and many other things to our camp site, with a bit of help from my kiddos (it felt like a much longer walk than I’m sure it was!). Needless to say, by the time I had re-packed the car to head home at the end of the weekend, I was beyond exhausted. It was surprisingly worth all the trouble and sore muscles from carrying everything… the kids had fun and so did I! Plus, nothing beats the beauty of the Tahoe area, in my opinion! 😉I experimented with some night shooting during our camping trip… no tripod. I still have some serious practicing to do, but I am now addicted to shooting at night and can’t wait to try it again, after researching how I can improve my skills! My youngest turned six at the end of May! Her two front teeth were loose, so I knew I better get a mini session in before they fell out! Love this spunky girl of mine! The night I took her six year pictures, her front tooth fell out, followed a few days later by the other one! Her toothless smile is quite adorable, I must say! 😉Say hello in the comments below and then head over to see what Vinita of Vinita Salomé Photography is sharing this month 🙂 Then continue clicking through the circle till you make it back here – I hope you enjoy all our posts!
