I’ve been working on a new project lately… learning to shoot on a medium format film camera! It’s been a really fun process and I’m grateful for my friends and past clients that have given me a chance to “practice” on them! This was my first shoot that I did entirely on film… I left my digital camera at home, so I would push myself to use my film camera the whole time. I’m so pleased with the results! Film has a dreamy, pastel quality to it that I don’t feel can be replicated exactly on a digital camera. As I become more efficient with my new film camera, I plan to add this to my shoots, and I’m SO excited about it!
I’m sure I’ve said this many times before but Taber Ranch has to be one of my all time favorite wedding venues! For this wedding, the timeline worked out perfectly… they opted to do a first look and some of their portraits before the ceremony which worked out AMAZING!! We also finished the majority of the family pictures and bridal party portraits before the ceremony. It made for a very stress free day for all. I was pleased that we had time to take pictures in the olive grove (SO pretty!) as well as the hill with their iconic red car and oak tree. My favorite!
I’ve always loved the look of medium format film! I recently purchased a film camera and started to practice on my own little family. During this engagement session, I asked Lauren & Mike if they wouldn’t mind if I shot a roll of film during their session and they happily obliged! These two are the sweetest and I’m super excited for their wedding later this year! (And in case you’re wondering, the first eight images are film and the rest are digital!)
Woodland, California has some seriously gorgeous wedding venues! I adore Windmill Farm & Vineyards and I was super sad to hear that they’re no longer offering weddings after this year. I’m so glad I had a chance to shoot there one last time! Katy & Tyler’s wedding day was perfection… the weather, the sweet family and guests, everything! I had a fun time working with them and sharing in their special day. So many favorites from there wedding!
