Impressions from November & December: A Personal Project

I haven’t joined in my usual blog circle in quite a while, and haven’t shared any personal pictures either, so I figured it was time I got back into doing this on a regular basis!  November and December were a whirlwind!  Looking back through our pictures, I took very few pics of my own family as I was so busy with client work.  I’m so grateful for my clients and having the chance to photograph their family year after year.  By the end of November I’m usually a bit burned out on taking pictures and tend to use my convenient cell phone to snap the little moments with our family…  Hoping to make a change this year and become more excited about capturing the everyday moments once again with my pro camera!  

First, I wanted to share a picture that is actually not my own… In November, we had family pictures taken by the lovely Angie Monson who I have been a huge fan of for many, many years.  She is based in Utah, but when I saw that she was offering travel sessions in Northern California this year, I knew I had to book a session with her!  The day of our shoot in San Francisco was INSANELY windy, but she made some magic for us and I’m so happy to have these gorgeous pictures of my own family.  Doing family pictures every year is hugely important to me and I love making an album from each session, hanging collages of favorites around the house, and ordering at least one large canvas.  This one is the picture I’m ordering a huge canvas of and I can’t wait for it to arrive!  My two girls are really into dancing and singing, so we signed them up for a more serious song and dance company this Fall.  The Christmas show was phenomenal!  My little one is front and center in this pic…And my oldest daughter in the center doing a rap with two other girls.  Everyone in the performance had their own solo and I’m so proud of my girls.  They performed in front of hundreds of people and did an amazing job!Christmas Eve we spent at my sister’s house.  We were able to carry on all of our traditions from growing up, along with our husbands traditions.  It was such a great night!Each of our kids performed their favorite Christmas songs for us…Our kids all take piano lessons and I’m so happy they can use this skill!
Christmas morning started at 5 am when all of my kids woke up to open stockings… I couldn’t be mad that it started so early because I remember waking up that early (or EARLIER!!) when I was a kid.  I knew I had to capture some pictures of it, since I always loved stockings the most!
