I traveled over to Rocklin for my new neice, Ashlyn’s, newborn portraits last month.  I could hardly wait to meet her and was so happy to have a very good excuse for a visit to Sacramento!  She is the youngest of FOUR girls, so she’s sure to be the princess of the house.  It was darling to see her big sister’s doting on her.  There is so much love in their family!  Here are a bunch of my favorites from the session…

I’m still trying to keep up with my new year’s resolution to do 12 photo shoots of my kids in 2012… For my son’s sixth birthday, I knew I wanted to do a themed shoot with inspiration from his favorite book How I Became a Pirate by Melinda Long & David Shannon.  I knew that I wanted the theme to appear more like “playing pretend” rather than being over done with costumes.  I was thrilled when I found the perfect t-shirt at Crewcuts.  I made the telescope out of a newspaper and made the red bandana out of a cheap red t-shirt from walmart.  It turned out to be a rather simple shoot to pull together.  My favorite was getting to use this old tub I had spotted before while doing a bridal shoot.  The tub is randomly sitting out in the middle of a field!  I thought it would make the perfect boat!  This was one of the most fun shoots I have ever done!  So many favorites that I decided I should just share a whole bunch! 

I couln’t resist sharing a few more from Madeline’s newborn session I did in Sacramento.  I love too many of them not to share!  I was especially excited to hear that Madeline’s mom wanted a few pictures in the nursery (which was decorated SO cute!!).  Those are probably some of my absolute favorite from the session! 

I was thrilled to have a chance to photograph my brand new neice, Zoe, at just one week old.  She was a complete DREAM to photograph… it was probably one of the easiest newborn sessions I have EVER had!  So of course, it was tons of fun to get to snuggle my new little niece and take some pictures while I was at it!  Here are some of my favorites…

Little Zoe is already a month old and I am just now getting around to posting the maternity pictures!  Ah well!!  I met my sister-in-law and her hubby down in Cambria for this session.  When I pulled up to the beach, I noticed a spot that had tons and tons of beautiful wildflowers, so we decided to start there and then hit up the beach and downtown area.  There were so many good pictures (she is SO photogenic!) that I decided to share a whole bunch.  I think the yoga poses are my favorites!

 

You’ve probably been wondering if I had fallen off the face of the earth…  As usual, I am SO behind on blogging.  I’m still trying to keep up with my new year’s resolution to do a photo shoot each month with one or all of my kiddos!  These were taken way back in February.  I couldn’t resist heading down to Carmel for some pictures in the wildflowers (which are all but gone now!).  We arrived at the location with only a half hour of sunlight left, so I cranked out a bunch of pictures in a short amount of time (my kids don’t like being in front of the camera for very long, anyway!).  Still captured a bunch of cute ones.  Here are a few of my favorites…
