Rob & Kim’s engagement session {Sacramento Wedding Photographer}
Posted on April 21, 2010
I just got back from a whirlwind weekend in Utah! My little sister got married last Saturday (wahoo!) and they hired me as their photographer!! They weren’t able to get engagement pictures before last week, so we went out early and I did an engagement session for them on Thursday. It was tons of fun! I had a hard time narrowing down my favorites, so here are a whole bunch that I just LOVED…

Baby P. ~ 7 days old {Rocklin Newborn Photographer}
Posted on April 12, 2010
I had the pleasure of photographing baby P. yesterday afternoon. She was so tiny and very well behaved, at just seven days old. I was really excited to use my newest prop – a pink and brown striped hat similar to the long blue/brown one that I love so much. Little P. was the perfect model.
Thank you, H. family, for a fun afternoon!!

Heartstrings {Sacramento & Rocklin Baby and Children’s photographer}

I love being a photographer. It is such a fun job, and is really a dream come true for me! But I have a confession to make. I don’t photograph my own children as much as I should. I mean, I take snapshots of them often, but I don’t usually do “real sessions” with them (at least, not very often). When my third child was born, I swore to myself that she would get just as many pictures taken of her as my other two had when they were babies. I was the third in my family and was hardly photographed at all as a baby (seriously. I have two scrapbook pages of pictures under age one and they were all taken too far away that you can’t even tell what I looked like!) so I didn’t want the same thing to happen in our family. Unfortunately, I’ve failed miserably. Kate, my oldest, has thousands of pictures from her first year. Gavin has quite a few, too. Sophia… not so much. But I’m trying (that counts for something, right?). So earlier this week, after we’d sent Kate off to school for the day, I decided to do a real photo shoot with Gavin and Sophia. The light in my bedroom is PERFECT in the early morning (for taking pictures, anyway…) so I took them upstairs and we had a little playdate with my camera.
I am thrilled with the results. I got exactly what I was hoping for. Their personalities totally shined through in the pictures. Gavin – the sweet, loving four year old that he is. Sophia – my little ten month old who is now speedily crawling everywhere and is so happy all the time. I love it! Now if only I could get a session in with all three of my kids together!!! Some of these are definitely destined to be wall portraits. Here are a few favorites…

Baby J. ~ 5 days old {Carmichael Newborn Photographer}

I had the pleasure of meeting little J. yesterday morning. He has the most adorable chunky cheeks! At five days old, he was so well behaved and went from one pose to the next with barely a complaint.

It was lovely meeting you, M. and B.! I can’t wait to show you the rest of the pictures!
Baby B. ~ 7 days old {Rocklin Newborn Photographer}
Posted on April 1, 2010
I had a great time photographing little B. on Tuesday. At 7 days old, he was a feisty little guy (usually they don’t get that way until they’re a bit older) but we were extra patient with him and ended up getting quite a few great pictures. Isn’t he just adorable? Thank you, M. family, for inviting me into your home to photograph your sweet baby!
