My heart has been breaking as I watch the news and follow the stories of those who have been suffering in Haiti. I wanted to do something to help, but didn’t know what I could do. Then today I found a way to help…

The weather has been so awful the last few days, but I was ecstatic that it wasn’t raining today during little miss M.’s newborn session (gloomy weather is a natural light photographer’s worst nightmare!).  I could hardly wait to try out my very first handmade knit cocoon/hat set – made by ME!  Yep!  My sister-in-law recently taught me how to knit and I was so excited to try out making some of my very own newborn props.  Usually I’m scouring etsy for something new, but now I get to start making my own.  Yipee!  Little M. simply did not want to sleep during our session.  In fact, I think she is the most alert newborn that I’ve ever photographed.  But she is just so darling, and I was thrilled when I uploaded the pictures onto my computer and saw how many cute ones we captured.  :-)

Don’t you just love how honest kids are in their expressions?  It’s one of my favorite things about photographing children.  I recently took these pictures of my niece in her ballet costume.  She is so adorable!  And she always gives me at least one pouty face.  I just love it!

My little sister is getting married in April and I could not be more excited!  Over the holidays, she was visiting from Utah and we decided to do a little urban bridal shoot just for fun (and believe me, it was TONS of fun!!).  Isn’t she gorgeous?!?
