Mini sessions {Rocklin Family Photographer}
Posted on December 16, 2009
I did a few mini sessions this holiday season (with the sole intent of capturing a family picture for the Christmas cards). Here are two favorites. The first is my sister’s gorgeous family. Surprisingly, their middle daughter (who’s three) was the most difficult to convince to smile. I really had my work cut out for me and was pretty exhausted by the end of their thirty minute session! Usually, I’m not tired at all by the end, but whew! With all that “peek-a-boo” with their youngest and running back and forth for tickles (to get their three year old to smile), I was soooo happy when we got “the shot!” And I can hardly wait to see this one framed on their wall!

I also did a very short session for some dear friends of ours. Their son is just the CUTEST but had a very short attention span (don’t you love one year olds?), so it was a good thing they opted for a mini session. After about three shots, he was DONE! Luckily, this was one of the first pictures I took, so we nailed it right away. Aren’t they such an adorable family?
And I love all the fall colors, too!!

Baby A. ~ 4 days old {Roseville Newborn Photographer}
Posted on December 8, 2009
I was a little worried when I woke up yesterday to see overcast skies (and snow on the ground! How often do you see that in Sacramento?!?). I thought the light wouldn’t be good enough for an indoor session. Luckily, I was wrong! The S. family had some awesome huge windows in their home, and all my worries disappeared as soon as I walked in the door! Little A. was so tiny and sweet. She was one of the most well behaved newborns that I’ve photographed and so many of the pictures turned out AMAZING. It was really hard to narrow it down for the sneak peek here on the blog! Thank you again, S. family, for allowing me to photograph your BEAUTIFUL baby girl!

And you know I couldn’t resist getting a stocking picture for this December baby!

Sweet Dreams {I HEART FACES photo challenge}
Posted on December 7, 2009

I’ve been a huge fan of the I heart faces blog (click here to view their site!) for quite some time, but when I saw the photo challenge for this week (“Sweet Dreams”), I knew I just HAD TO enter! This photo was taken of my daughter, Sophia, a few weeks ago and I absolutely adore it (along with all the other photos from that session!). She’s just growing too quickly. *sigh*

Trading {Sacramento Portrait Photographer}
Posted on December 2, 2009
Last time I was visiting Monterey, I met up with my friend and photographer, Morgan Werner, to do a trade. First we went to an old abandoned building on Fort Ord. It was a little creepy, and I have to admit that I was worried I’d get cut by the broken glass everywhere, but the pictures turned out awesome! Totally worth it! Then we headed down to Carmel to take pictures at the San Carlos Mission. GORGEOUS location for pictures! I can’t believe I never thought to go there before. Morgan and her husband were natural models in front of the camera, so my job was pretty dang easy. Plus, amazing good looks helped, too!
Thanks for doing the trade with me, Morgan! We should definitely do it again soon.
